When an emergency manager is placed in charge of an entity, they are expected to work with whatever financing is in place for that entity. Obamacare decided to remove that restriction and mandate that financing WILL be provided by the taxpayer to cover whatever expense is incurred by the program. If Proposition 1 gave the emergency manager the ability mandate funding for his actions by adding taxes without taxpayer approval, you'd see the Republicans screaming bloody murder about that as well.<br /><br />I feel that our medical system has many issues that should be addressed and Obamacare did try to correct many known problems, but it has set a dangerous precedent in that it has now been established that the government can now mandate the purchase of a good or service and the taxpayer has no recourse. I fully expect this action to have serious unintended consequences.<br /><br />The overall effectiveness of Obamacare won't be known for some time, but it makes me think of a business axiom that someone told me long ago: "A business can only provide two of the following - speed, quality, low price."
